SUZUKI KIZASHI......................

"KIZASHI" means a bold step forward, you will be convinced after reading this article that Suzuki has really taken a bold step forward by making this car. The car is targeted to be launched in India 


The pictures shows the first glimpse of the car, a truly sporty sedan having muscular stance and is broad shouldered and tipped forward. It has a more European look than the Japanese look unlike most of the Suzuki models have.

   
Large 18" alloy wheels, well sculpted bonnet, large head lights along with projector lamps and big honey comb type grill gives the car a very attractive as well as a solid stance. 
Wrap around tail lamps, curvy trunk lid with a stop lamp mounted on it and twin rectangular exhaust pipes makes the rear side of the car very attractive. The build of the car is very robust and solid and you will find it better than the Hondas and the Toyotas, but it does not have the built to last feel that a VW or Skoda or the european cars have. The car has got a very upmarket look you can feel it from the pictures.

Under the hood is an extremely powerful 2.4 liter petrol engine that churns out a mighty 185bhp which is just way ahead of the same segment competitors, however the engine may be re-tuned for the Indian conditions where mileage is more important. However talking about the 185bhp engine, the engine is very responsive and delivers Accord like performance and you can feel the sporty grunt sound from the twin exhaust as you tap on the accelerator pedal. The refinement is not as good as a Honda, but their is enough bang for your buck. The motor is very smooth and responsive in the mid-range of around 2700 rpm. The needle of the speedo can cross 180km/hr easily, that's shows the power of this car, although in our country we only have a few patches of roads where you can actually drive at this speed. The engine has "OVERSQUARE" design, where the bore is larger than the stroke which is a very unique technology, and also is called a shorter stroke engine.

Looking at the interiors you get a very fresh design with high tech features. The standard features include Cruise control, Dual Zone Climate control AC, Premium sound system of 7 speakers , Trip computer (which can you help you with information  on average fuel consumption, distance to empty, outside and inside temperatures,gear indicator etc), steering mounted audio controls, electric powered seats, rear AC vents, SRS airbags. Paddle shifts for shifting gears on the steering wheel for the CVT(Continuously variable transmission) version. The space in the car is ample, a wheelbase of 2700mm gives you ample legroom in the front and the rear, the headroom and the elbow room is also plenty, the trunk volume is very low to 376 liters which is significantly lower than the competitors.The white on black dials looks good but the clarity isn't good, they look good when lit. The interiors has grey theme but you can opt for beige theme also.

The international car is equipped with 4WD (four wheel drive), but their are less possibility of the 4WD option for India. The car will be offered with a 6-speed manual or CVT based transmission system. The car has got all four wheel disc brakes and anti-lock as standard along with electronic brake force distribution for the most secure braking and for superior safety.


The car will come with a price tag in between 15-17lakh approximately and the will be slotted between Civic and Accord and the car is well matched to take the likes of Honda,Toyota,VW etc. Overall the car feels much above the Suzuki levels if build quality and design is concerned. The car is a whole new package along with quality bits that you have not seen in a Suzuki so far. Suzuki has to set a new brand image for car of this segment, because in India it very famous for small cars.

New Hyundai i10..................................

Hyundai has launched the upgraded version of i10, the changes include new headlamps, bigger new tail lamps, a new rear bumper with integrated reflectors.
On the front side it gets a new hexagonal grille with is said to be from the hyundai's family and also seen on the ix35 crossover, it also gets a big air dam of honeycomb shape in the bumper for the cooling which gives it a very sporty look, and all new fog lamps replacing the old circular ones.The overall length car has been increased by 20mm. The mirrors get signal light blinkers integrated into it for a better look. Overall the exterior gets a better cosmetic change to enhance the looks of exterior. 

Coming on the interiors their are a host of new features ,the dashboard gets all new gunmetal finish and looks attractive now, the meters get blue back lit similar to its bigger brother i20,the stereo system now can play mp3 files and it also gets USB or iPod connectivity so now you can play your favorite music any time it also gets Bluetooth technology, the top variant gets a buzzer type parking sensor along with a gear shift indicator which is displayed on the LCD screen which on to the right of the instrument console which suggest you in which gear car is to be driven for maximum efficiency  so now you will get more efficiency and proper drive ability , the steering gets controls for audio system and receiving calls. Some very new features that you get for the car for this segment is heated ORVM(Outside rear view mirrors) a very new feature for  such a small car.

The engine options are the same 1.1L iRDE2 engine and the 1.2L kappa2 engine
,the company has done a minor change in the 1.1L iRDE2 engine  by increasing the increasing the inlet and outlet diameter so that the engine power can increase. The engine now produces 69BHP instead of 65.7BHP and the torque remains the same.
While the main change comes in the kappa2 engine which gets a new VTVT(Variable timing Valve train) function which is again a very first in small car segment. However by introducing a VTVT function the power has not been beefed up it remains unchanged at 80BHP, but now the engine feels more smooth and refined at any engine speed as compared to kappa1, so you push the throttle and enjoy the ride.  
The 1.2L Kappa engine has claimed an unbeatable mileage of 20.37 km/liter which is the second best to Tata Nano.

The ride and handling of the car remains unchanged, on the contrary the company hasn't changed 155/80 R13 skinny tires to cope up with the mileage.The ride is little stiff on the front side and soft on the rear side.
The new i10 is also available in automatic transmission.
Overall the car has changed somewhat as far as the performance is concerned, but the major changes are purely cosmetic which are well enough to thrill you, with a nominal price hike.

ALL NEW SWIFT ON THE CARDS IN 2011...........................

Maruti Suzuki is planing to launch its emperor Swift in a new Avatar, the car has been already launched in European market and is proving to be a success.Swift is the current market leader in India for its segment,and the new model gives more promises for success.

Coming on to the car, it looks pretty much same like the old swift as far as the structure of the car is concerned.

The exterior changes include swept back headlamps and tail lamps, a new front bumper with new rear design for the license number plate  and restyled rear hatch door.The main change include the dimensions of the car the length increase from 3695mm to 3850mm and also the wheelbase increases from 2390mm to 2430mm, these changes indicates increase in the interior space for the passengers and bigger luggage compartment so now you can stretch yourself a little bit more into your car. The width almost remains the same as well as the height.

The interiors shares the major part of the change with a all new design and a lot more exciting and cheerful new touches. The dash board is all new with integrated stereo system with USB and AUX-IN facility, climate control AC, steering mounted audio controls, engine start/stop button which is becoming a popular feature in new cars,steering mounted audio controls.All this features makes the new Swift a feature packed car.Interiors looks more upmarket and attractive than the current model.

The car will be powered by the current 1.2ltr engine, but with variable valve timing technology(VVT) that is used in the SX4..This new technology will boost up the power from 84 to 86Bhp and also increase the efficiency by 4%.It will  will also be offered with the standard DDis multi-jet engine producing 75Bhp, that was used in its predecessor, so you can expect the same reliability and trust

worthiness of a Maruti.

Overall the car leaves a fantastic impression and does promise to thrill the people.

 12/7/2011-Maruti has ended the production of the current swift and is ready to launch new swift in August.

NISSAN MICRA...............................

Nissan India Ltd. has made a forward leap with the launch of its all new hatchback the MICRA. The car is in direct competetion with Ritz,Beat,Vista and the current market leader Swift.The Micra has really stunned the market with its shocking price starting from Rs 3.95 lakh to Rs 5.25 lakh .
The car has a typical Japanese look which some may like and some may found it a little odd.
A very significant thing about the exterior are the compact dimensions which makes the city driving completely hassle free. Minimum turning radius is about 4.65 mtrs which is less than many of the cars in its segment, so the car turns around in a narrow street with ease, the pictures shows the shape of the car.
Interiors of the car has a round bubble theme, the design of the dashboard, meter cluster and the AC and stereo control knobs give the interior a very niche look. The material quality of interior is top notch and the switch gear and control knobs has the feel of  Nissan Teana which is almost 6 times the price of Micra. The interior space is on par with the competition and can seat 4 adults comfortably.
The engine is a 1198cc, producing 75.4 BHP, 3-cyl 12 valve DOHC ,which is one of the most fuel efficient engines in the market today, delivering a frugal 18.4km/ltr (Specified by ARAI).
The car has a good power-to-weight ratio of 78.541 BHP/ton which means you have great pick up, so you can now leave behind the traffic when the light goes green at the traffic signal. The unladen weight of 960kg which means lighter body gives you excellent mileage.
Coming on to the equipments,driver and passenger side airbags are standard on all variants.The top model is featured with equipments like intelligent key system which allows you to enter your car with just a finger tip,and also the start/stop button which allows you to start your car just on touch of a button, again a very new feature for car in this segment, it also has single zone automatic climate control a stereo system with 4 speakers with aux-in 
The only difficulty is that Nissan is a new company for this country

and it has to establish as a new player with serious competition in these particular segment, and will require some time to grab its reputation. Leaving the reputation point NISSAN MICRA is the car to buy. The company has the great reputation worldwide.

VENTO LAUNCHED.........

Volkswagen recently launched its all new sedan the VENTO. The car has been targeted to take the likes of City, SX4,Linea and Verna. The car comes with a ex-showroom price tag of  RS 6.99lakh for the base trendline version goes upto RS 8.23lakh for the top high line version.The car is available in both petrol and diesel engines. 
The car is made on a extended POLO platform but it is not just a POLO with a boot it is much more than that.
The vento has a larger wheel base which provides the car with ample of space for the rear and the front passenger.
The company has offered 2 engine options for the car 1.6 liter petrol and 1.6 liter turbo diesel engine, both the engines have max power output of 103.95 BHP. Both cars have a DOHC
16-valve engine.
VW has provided 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic triptronic transmission for the petrol and only 5-speed manual for the diesel.
The triptronic transmission allows you to use your automatic transmission in a manual mode.
